Personal interview

Julia Abellán
Sales Admininistration - Equilabo
Could you tell us a little about yourself and your professional background?
My professional career began 7 years ago at this company, starting from the very beginning, as an administrative assistant, organizing paperwork and learning how the processes worked from the inside.
I also spent several years in customer service and order processing. That period taught me about dealing with people, managing day-to-day work situations, and truly understanding customer needs.
Afterward, I joined the purchasing department, where I learned in depth about the materials and equipment that make up our portfolio, and I began to truly connect with the more technical aspects of what we do.
A couple of years ago, when I had a more comprehensive view, I moved to the sales department as an Inside Salesperson. And the truth is, it's where I feel most comfortable. It's an area that allows me to combine everything I've learned over these years and turn it into real support for the sales team and the entire team. I love feeling that my work contributes, solves problems, and makes everyone's job a little easier.
What's your assessment of these 7 years working at the company?
For me, these seven years have been a mix of challenges, but that's better—who would want everything to be easy? It would be so boring!
I've had the opportunity to start from scratch, to make mistakes, to improve, and above all, to meet people who have supported me, taught me, and believed in me even when I doubted myself. That, for me, has made all the difference.
If I had to sum it up, I'd say my assessment is very positive. I feel I've gained confidence and that today I'm in a place where I truly enjoy what I do, working at a great company with a team that makes my day easy.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to disconnect from my routine and dedicate myself to things that make me happy, although, I should warn you, some of them are a bit geeky.
I'm a huge fan of TV series and movies, and probably my favorite time of day is when I can sit on the sofa with a blanket and lose myself in a good story.
I also like to play sports; it not only keeps me active but also gives me energy and makes me feel good. That said, I don't always have the same motivation as when there's an interesting series waiting for me on the sofa.
And here's the funny thing: I love video games. Yes, I'm pretty bad at them, I admit it, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying every game. On weekends, I like to spend a few hours playing, although I usually end up laughing more at my own mistakes than my victories.
