Surface kits with neutralizing broth

Designed according to the international standard ISO 18593 “Microbiology of food and animal feeding stuffs. Horizontal methods for sampling techniques from surfaces using contact plates and swabs.”

The neutralizing broth is formulated for the sampling and transport of a wide range of microorganisms. It neutralises the presence of disinfectants and antimicrobials with inherent bacteriostatic proprieties.

CONTAINS:

  • Casein peptone: provides nitrogen, vitamins, and essential amino acids for growth.
  • Yeast extract: a source of vitamins, especially B vitamins.
  • Dextrose: a source of fermentable carbohydrates that provides carbon and energy.
  • Five neutralizers capable of inactivating a wide range of disinfectants: Lecithin, Polysorbate 80, Sodium thiosulfate, Sodium bisulfite, and Sodium thioglycolate.

COMPONENTS:

  • 10 ml of neutralizing broth in a non-deformable polypropylene skirted tube with conic bottom, of 15 x 112 mm.
  • A swab with a polystyrene stick and viscose head, provided with a breaking point for easy placement into the tube after sampling.
  • A label with space to write down the date and identify the sample taken.
  • A peel pouch made of medical paper that preserve the sterility of the kit until the moment of its use. Printed with the reference, DESCRIPTION:, batch number and expiry date.
  • Optional: disposable sterile template (marking off a square of 10 x 10 cm or of 4x5 cm) individually wrapped.
  • The kit is sterile by radiation.
  • Validity term: 18 months.
  • Storage conditions: between 2 and 30 ºC, protected from moisture.
