Screw threaded glass tubes
Screw-on tubes made of soda-lime glass or borosilicate glass.
Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with very high resistance to sudden temperature changes. This makes it ideal when tubes need to be heated and cooled quickly without risk of breakage. Soda-lime glass is used in most laboratory techniques where the tube is not subjected to significant thermal processes.
Tubes with excellent repeatability and dimensional stability: diameter, height, and wall thickness.
Supplied without a cap.
These tubes are autoclavable.
These tubes are autoclavable.
Important Precautions:
To prevent breakage or degradation:
- Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not place cold items directly into a hot autoclave, nor cool it abruptly).
- Do not seal containers tightly (risk of overpressure).
- Check for prior mechanical stress (microcracks can cause breakage in the autoclave).
- Repeated cycles: it is resistant, but many cycles can weaken it over time.
