Deltaswab range tube with ViCUM® medium and flocked swab

Sterile, invasive surgical sample collection system for direct patient contact, with transport medium for subsequent microbiological analysis.

ViCUM® is a universal liquid transport medium formulated with a balanced salt solution, bovine serum albumin, HEPES buffer, antibiotics and antifungals, and appropriate preservatives, with a pH that allows the viability of viruses, chlamydia, mycoplasmas, and ureaplasmas. It contains phenol red and antibiotics that inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi, ensuring adequate sample recovery.

Each tube contains glass beads to facilitate cell lysis, sample homogeneity, and maximize elution. Designed for cell culture, antigenic studies for viral detection, and genomic amplification techniques using PCR.

INTENDED USE - DESCRIPTION

The kit consists of:

  • A tube with 2 ml of ViCUM® universal liquid transport medium.
  • A flocked swab packaged in peel-pack.
  • Presentation of the kit in plastic flow pack.
  • Swab: sterile by radiation (R).
  • Tube with medium: sterile by filtration.
