Deltaswab range tube with ViCUM® medium and flocked swab
Sterile, invasive, surgical-type sample collection system for direct patient contact, with transport medium for subsequent microbiological analysis.
ViCUM® is a universal liquid transport medium formulated with a balanced salt solution, bovine serum albumin, HEPES buffer, antibiotics, antifungals, and appropriate preservatives, with a pH that allows the viability of viruses, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and ureaplasma. It contains phenol red and antibiotics that inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi, ensuring adequate sample recovery.
Each tube contains glass beads to facilitate cell lysis, sample homogeneity, and maximize elution. Designed for cell culture, performing antigenic studies for viral detection and genomic amplification techniques using PCR.
- Tube with transport medium: Directive 98/79/EC.
- In vitro diagnostic medical devices
- Swab: Directive 93/42/EEC. Medical Devices
The kit includes:
- One tube containing 2 ml of ViCUM® universal liquid transport medium.
- One flocked swab packaged in a peel-pack.
- Kit presentation in a plastic flow pack.
- Swab: sterile by radiation (R).Tube with medium: sterile by filtration.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE DELTASWAB SYSTEM
- Compatible with new automated equipment for sample inoculation and plating.
- Compatible with molecular diagnostic techniques.
- Facilitates the collection, transport, and subsequent processing of microbiological samples.
- Greater reliability in sample recovery: high absorption and elution capacity of the Deltaswab flocked swab.
- Greater sample viability, as it remains completely suspended in the medium.
- Allows for obtaining different homogeneous inocula from the same sample.
- Adapts to any work protocol.
- Minimizes potential cross-contamination through reduced handling and maximum sealing.
- Greater user comfort: conical bottom facilitates shaking and provides greater stability to the skirted tube.
- Greater patient comfort thanks to the softer swab sleeve.
- Standardizes sample reception in microbiology laboratories.
- Facilitates manual plating.
- Allows for direct spreading onto the slide, as it does not contain agar medium.
- Ensures the correct transport and storage of samples at both room temperature (20-25°C) and refrigeration (4-8°C).
