SafeFAST Classic Class II A1/A2 microbiological safety cabinets are designed and constructed according to the performance requirements of the European standard EN-12469:2000 and the American standard NSF/ANSI 49. These cabinets protect the integrity of the sample from contamination and protect the researcher and the environment from biological (non-chemical) risk. Suitable for pathogens of biological containment level up to N3. The air is drawn in through the front and then passes through the H14 HEPA/ULPA filter bank under the work surface, from where it is drawn in and blown up to the top of the cabinet. 70% of the filtered air is recirculated (after passing through an H14 HEPA/ULPA filter) in an ISO Class 3 air cleaning system, according to the ISO 14644-1 laminar flow pattern down into the working chamber and the remaining 30% is (after passing through an H14 HEPA/ULPA filter) exhausted to the atmosphere through another H14 HEPA/ULPA filter.
