Tubes for vacuum system

These tubes are used for the sterile collection of urine samples.

  • PET tubes with an inner rubber stopper and an outer yellow polyethylene cap. They include a sample identification label with a white background and a yellow diagonal line to clearly indicate that it is a urine tube.
  • The label is printed with the lot number, expiration date, CE marking, IVD marking, single-use symbol, "sterile R", aspiration volume, manufacturer, and manufacturer's reference.
  • Label dimensions: 40 x 20 mm.
  • During manufacturing, the tubes undergo an air extraction process, creating a controlled vacuum inside. When the stopper is pierced by the needle, the vacuum inside the tube draws up to 9 ml of fluid without needing to remove the cap, both for sample introduction and for extracting aliquots for analysis.
  • The sealing cap consists of two parts: an inner rubber stopper and a yellow polyethylene cap. This dual system prevents the formation of residual drops when the needle is withdrawn from the rubber stopper. Supplied in expanded polystyrene racks of 100 units, shrink-wrapped and labeled.

Code 408910.K

  • The preservative allows for sample transport while preventing bacterial growth.
  • For long-term storage and preservation, the tubes should be kept at a temperature between +5 and +25°C in a dry place. The tubes should be stored upright with the cap on top, as indicated in each case.

CAUTION Code 408910.K: Handle with care; the tube contains boric acid, which can be harmful to health.

ADVANTAGES OF THE VACUUM URINE SAMPLING SYSTEM:

  1. It prevents potential contamination when opening the bottle and handling the sample.
  2. It simplifies the process for the user (whether a laboratory technician or the patient).
  3. It prevents potential splashes or spills when opening and closing the bottle and tube, thus avoiding the possibility of losing sample needed for analysis and the risk of contamination of users or the work environment.
  4. The cap is re-piercing. This feature allows for the extraction of sample aliquots using a syringe, so the analysis can also be performed without opening the tube.
  5. It sanitizes the process.

SAMPLE COLLECTION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Open the bottle and place the lid upright on a flat surface.
  2. Collect the middle portion of the urine stream, filling the bottle halfway. Discard the front and back portions of the urine stream.
  3. Close the bottle carefully, being careful not to touch the inside of the lid.
  4. Give the bottle to the healthcare professional.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE FOR EXTRACTION:

  1. Lift the label on the bottle cap.
  2. Insert the tube with the stopper facing down into the bottle's cannula, and press until the needle pierces the stopper and enters the tube.
  3. Fill the tube with the sample. Repeat if more tubes need to be filled.
  4. Remove the tube and reseal the label over the opening.
  5. Replace the label over the opening and reseal. Label the tube for transport to the laboratory.
